Frequently Asked Questions
- What should I wear?
- Encounter embraces the "come as you are" philosophy. We are casual in what we wear from "Metro" dress shirts to T shirts.
- What is the atmosphere?
- We've designed the space to be much like a coffee house with an intimate touch. It has a casual worship environment allowing you to seek an intimate Encounter with Jesus.
- What does a typical service look like?
- We like to change it up from week to week to worship God in different ways as well as keep it fresh. A typical week generally includes: worship music with an acoustic guitar and keyboard singing current praise songs as well as hymns, in depth prayer time or reflection, scripture reading or responsive reading, message from the bible, and time to hang out on the front and back ends.
- What is the time frame for a service?
- We try to be conscientious of your time. We try to start at 5pm and end no later than 6:30pm. At the end of the service people are hanging out making dinner plans and going out together.
- Where should I park?
- Most of us park in the back of the building. However you can park in the front as well where someone will greet you and point you in the right direction for Encounter which currently meets in our student center.
- What do you all provide for kids?
- We are family friendly with many of us having kids. We have child care for the young ones (newborn to second grade). As of now we are having second graders and up joining us in the service. In the future we are looking at programs that are age specific.
